Blogmas Day 9: Things I love about Christmas

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share my list of things I love about Christmas today. Christmas is such a special time of the year for me. I would go as far to say it is my favourite time of the year. It is filled with happiness, surprise, hope, and joy and giving to my family at this time of the year is so special. Below is a list of what I love Christmas so much.

How everything feels special:

Moo under the tree

This time of the year I am feeling like it is a time when we are all kinder to each other and thing of what we are grateful for. This creates a special feeling and I know I am excited for Christmas and our traditions and I feel in the spirit early in November.

Christmas music:

I LOVE Christmas music. This could be my favorite thing about Christmas is the music, because it is so beautiful. Songs about love, family, and hope. I feel like it is so warm and cozy and it just makes me happy. My new routine is to listen to music in the car on my way to work and back home and also a bit at work and then when I am making dinner. A bit much? Nah...

Spirit of giving to others:

I love that this time of the year we think of others who do not have as much as we do and we give back. We spend time with people who would appreciate it, donate towards causes, spend time with others in our lives. It is all in the spirit of the season and of course all holidays around this time of the year promote to give back around this time of the year.

The colors:

The red and green, the silver and gold. The snowy whites. I love it all at this time of the year and the combinations that we see on Christmas trees.

The smells:

The pine tree smell, the cinnamon ah...

Flavors:

Peppermint, Eggnog, mint chocolate... so good!

The traditions:

A Christmas tradition to go down to the Distillery District for the market

Christmas markets, decorating the tree, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Opening gifts and giving gifts, and Christmas dinner.

Lots of gifts for everyone!

Christmas Movies: 

Of course Christmas movies add a lot to the holiday celebrations. They get me into the Christmas spirit and I get excited for Christmas day. I love watching It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve.

Spending time with family and friends

This is a time of year we spend a lot of time with family and friends. We have dinners and spend time with them for traditions and gift exchanges. It is a good time to set aside time in our busy schedules to see people close to us who we might not see as much during our weekly routines.
