Ramblings <3

Hey there!

I bought a few more balls of wool today to complete the baby blanket :) so I'll try to push myself to get it done ! I procrastinate too much :P I'd rather look through your blogs for an hour than get anything done. Which isn't so bad, I enjoy this time!

Today I almost lost my wallet, I went to the gym and left it on the bench, but when I was rustling through my bag to find my keys, no wallet was to be seen. So I bolted back to the gym where I found my abandoned wallet, the amount of relief is unbearable. These things make you think once and awhile, to keep better eye on our important things and also that they can be stolen, lost so easily.

The gym, I went and worked out now I am so happy. Maybe I'll lose some of these annoying pounds that have been attached to me for some time now. Yes the dreaded 10- 20 pounds, I'm sure everyone has that issue, if only I could lose 10 more pounds... and how easy is that? just eat better, exercise, but of course there's the Starbucks that calls our names, what is it? the banana chocolate smoothie? *mouth waters* sooo hard to resist. Anyways I'll make a point of resisting now.

I think I'll actually go and knit now, or read I would love to finish a book I am reading today, I have read 3 books this month, it was a goal of mine :) I really want to finish the baby blanket soon to, to give as a baby gift.

Anyways have a great rest of your day,

Update time :)

I have been working on my baby blanket. Here's a picture of the work in progress:

So as you can see, it's coming along but still a long way to go! I'll be starting some mini projects soon, like some flowers and also going to be starting a vest soon. I have never knitted socks so I would love to take on that challenge as well :) I've read about tube socks and think that would be a fun start to knitting socks, with no heel !
Okay write to you later!

Good day

Hey everyone :)

I've been working night and day on this baby blanket! I hadn't realized how long it would take me to knit. So the baby is still a baby for quite some time at least, but now i'm feeling the crunch. gotta get this one done!
Lately I have been working on honing my knitting skills, looking for easy clothing patterns to try to tackle. I want to knit a vest or something like that. I have a pattern for a vest with a hood I am thinking of knitting.
anyways that's what I am up to, I will definitely post some baby blanket pictures once I am finished ! :D
Have a good day

Knitting pictures for knit lovers !

Here are some pictures, click on photo cred to see the websites where I found the pictures, enjoy!

As stated by website designboom:"german designer sebastian schoenheit is one designer trying to invigorate this craft with some contemporary flair. his ‘300’ knitted carpet which makes use of oversized needles and yarn to create a knitwork of surreal proportions. the piece is also meant to reference the process of knitting and it history."
-interesting! that would be hard hehe

Boys DO knit! haha, or did.
check out this website about the history about men knitting by clicking photo cred! it's pretty interesting!

Fall is here and the knitting frenzy begins!

Hey Everyone!

I was knitting a lot of the baby blanket yesterday, it's consuming me! I will post pictures I just took a second ago once my camera battery charges. (got to remember to charge it!) I'm excited to finish it and give it to my new little cousin.
So how is everyone doing? it's fall now, yesterday was the Autumnal Equinox at 5:18 pm. I am loving the cooler air and the leaves changing on the trees, sorry summer lovers but fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love to cozy up in my sweaters and it's also the best time for... knitting! so much to knit for in the fall, winter is fast approaching so we need: scarves, sweaters, gloves, cozy socks. I have to also start thinking about Christmas gifts as well, what to knit who, what colors, etc.. I think I just might knit most of my gifts this year :) well at least for my friends, that would be fun! personalized gifts :D one of my friends is a knitter herself, she's really good at it, she started fair isle knitting at one point, is that hard? I haven't tried yet. :S I'm going to try to get her to start a blog so you just might see her work too!
anyways all this talk of knitting, makes me want to knit so ttyl! off to work on the blanket!

write to you later !

It's all about the knit

My motto-I bought this at the craft fair as well

I knitted this last night

Buddah Pears

Good morning everyone!

I just found something interesting in the newspaper this morning. People are growing Buddah shaped pears! a man named Hai Xianzhang in Hebei Province grew pears in moulds of Buddah and they turned out pretty good I must say! It apparently took 6 years of mastering the praying Buddah. They are selling $8 a piece? nice profit. Here's a picture:

Hey Bloggers! <3

I worked more on my baby blanket, it's 7 inches wide now. I am now stqrting on the second ball of yarn because I am done the first, it was 105 yard ball of wool.
I went to a fall craft fair yesterday with the family. It was sooo cute. I picked up a few things for my room for the Autumn season. It really inspires you to create after visiting one of these fairs. Gets you in the spirit to knit, sew, glue etc. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday afternoon, getting refreshed for the week ahead.
I am currently looking for a part time job in retail, not sure where quite yet, I had graduated from college and decided I would like to pursue further education so at the moment its just deciding time and come January I will apply.
so I am going out for some chinese food soon with my sister, she's finishing work at 5 so we were going to go out afterwards. I get to practice using chopsticks once again! (I'm useless with chopsticks haha.)
bye for now!!
much love,
Lisa ♥

What I am up to today

I finished the little knitted flower yesterday :) I'm going to put a pin on the back of it. It's just a little fun thing to knit.

I was reading one day and my cat, Fluffy came and she jumped up on my lap, I couldn't resist taking a picture of her as she moved her mouth on my book. She loves doing that.

I was working more on the baby blanket that I have to get finished soon as a gift! It's really soft and getting longer.

I've also decorated my room for Autumn, I went to Michael's and bought some really nice Autumn decorations to put on my dresser. Here's what it looks like now :) I know it's a little premature seeing its only september 18th and there are still GREEN leaves on the trees, but it will all come quicker than we think. :P

I went shopping with my friend at the salvation army and found this peice on a shelf. Its kinda cute, it has a stem on the top like a fruit or something. Funny what you find in these shops . I can put things inside like keys, change etc. Its a cute decoration on my dresser as well.

That's it for now! enjoy your friday night <3

Today's Happenings ♥

Hey bloggers!

oday I went shopping, one of my favorite things to do :P I bought a cute gray scarf, a gold necklace with purple gem, and a black belt, all from Costa Blanca.
I topped it off with a delicious pumpkin spice frappuccino, sooo good I recommend everyone try these ! also the banana chocolate smoothie <3<3
This morning I worked more on the mini flower knitting project. I have been knitting for 20 minutes now as I have been thinking of things to add to my blog. I cannot wait to post the final product when its all knitted and complete! so far there are 4 petals, just need maybe one or two more and its done then i need to tie them together and sew the remaining wool to hide it.

I finished reading Lock and key by Sarah Dessen last night! It is a really good book. She is one of my all time favorite authors I've been reading her books for a long time. She also has a new one that I saw today at the mall in Coles, called Along for the ride. This one sounds like a cute book to read as well. I have a couple i'll need to read before that because I went out and bought some books a week ago. Some other authors I love are, Ceilia Ahern, Sophie Kinsella, Nicolas Sparks, Stephenie Meyer, and Jude Deveraux. They are mostly under the categories of realistic, romance, young adult.

I'm going to finish knitting the flower now, then will look at your blogs and get updated! thanks for reading!

Some photos for you!

Over the years I've been saving some photos to my computer that I love and touch me for some reason. Here are some! I'll be posting more over time :) enjoy!

Being knitty

I have been working this morning on knitting petals for my flower that I am making mom. It's going to be pink! and the petals small. I have made flowers before, this one however will be smaller as it is going to be a pin for her jacket. Once I have knitted all of the petals I will cut the string parts hanging on the sides and then sew them all together. I'll post some pictures when I am done.

I have been also working on the baby blanket this morning, and thanks to this blog it is a reminder for me to get knitting! I had stopped knitting for quite some time, I am glad to be starting up again.

Now I am going to the gym to work out for a bit and then mayeb come back and resume knitting :P bye for now

Summer Photography

Today I went to the dentist... found out I have a cavity. I had just recently gotten my braces off so maybe I didn't floss the way I should have. I will have to take care of things in there better I suppose!

Here is a collection of some photos I took during the summer. I love photography and really enjoy taking photos from different angles and viewpoints.

My work in progress: baby blanket :)

My Dad's cousin just had a baby, so I'm knitting her this blanket. She had a son named Maxime. I can't wait to be done and give it to them <3

A cozy winter scarf I made last year :)

Funny change room

I was shopping one day at a Bootlegger store and this was in the change room. I loved it so much I HAD to take a picture of it! I did end up buying the black sweater and pink shirt, but the green one... no, but the no hook was gone.. probably on purpose so you have to buy everything!

RIP men and women of the twin tower attacks

It is now 1:30 am and September 11th, I'd like to mourn the loss of many men and women lost to the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. It was tragic and such a loss for the families and friends of victims of 9/11. I am grateful that it did not affect me but so many people's lives were affected and it is so horrible to have that pain and sorrow in your heart of losing someone because of these horrible, careless acts. I hope all of us remember this and take some time out of our busy days and think about the families and friends who have lost so much.

Knitted Bunny Rabbit

This is my Knitted Bunny relaxing in the Adirondack.

Up close and personal :)

Playing in the garden!

Playing hide and seek! can you see him?

Here is a bunny I knitted in December 2008. He is made from white wool, I stuffed him with some fluff and I embroidered the eyes and nose on. My first knitted toy type project, so it will always be special. Cannot wait to post more pictures of future projects!

Although it has been altered and mine is big and longer, I'd like to credit this website because they were the ones who had this pattern I used. Maybe you can try it too! I just used bigger needles and came out with mine:

New to blogging :)

Hey everyone!

As my name on here states, my name is Lisa and yes I do knit. I have been knitting for a few years now and absolutely love it. I will be posting some of my knitted works soon and one cute three peas in a pod that I actually bought at a knitting table at my College. It was too cute to refuse. So basically I'd love to meet people who love knitting and to see other blogs that have knitted works. Also look at blogs that are interesting and teach me things as well because I love to learn about new things. :)
