HAPPY HALLOWEEN and... New month new goals :)

Hello everyone,

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  I wish everyone a fun and safe Halloween night! hope you are having fun :)  We sure are here at my home.  We got lots of children coming to the door and most of our candy is gone now.  I was dressed up as Dorothy and even had a child say "I like your costume" I said "thank you, I like your too" then she said " thank you my mom made it" it was so sweet :)  and another girl said "are you Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz?" I said "Yes" and she said "It's a nice costume"  it was so cute.  We teachers dressed up at the daycare today and did a costume contest.  No I didn't win, but a couple deserving won instead.  Statue of Liberty and Fiona from Shrek.  Pretty creative.

As we head into the new month of November, I ask you... what are your goals for this month?  I find it so helpful to each month ask myself what I'd like to accomplish.
This month I would like to finish the scarf, begin a new one, and then also to begin a more challenging project such as knitting a hat.  I would like to save knitting something like a sweater for the new year when I have more time.  It is so busy right now with my schedule I don't think I can put so much time into knitting a garment.

Have a good night!

Hurricane Sandy...

Hello,

I hope everyone is safe while the "Frankenstorm" Sandy passes through.   I am watching ABC News right now as the storm passes through Lower Manhattan, New York.  This is one of those times that I am glad I don't live in New York even as glamorous as it seems.  It's windy here in Toronto, we are certainly feeling the effects of the storm.

Take care!

Halloween night out...

Hello friends,

I went out clubbing last night to a Halloween event with friends and had such a good time.  I am really getting back into the clubbing scene and having a blast ! I went as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz :)

Me all dressed up :)

My sister was a boxer and my friends were a peacock, devil, and Pocahontas.  Some really great costumes.  I am not sure what I will be next year but I can't wait already to choose from the many different personas possible.

I will be knitting like crazy this week to get that scarf finished off.  I am also doing other hobbies like reading.  I have a goal to read 25 books this year and so far I am at 11 so I better pick up the pace! :)  I have so many unread books on my shelf that I have yet to read due to buying book after book with the intention to read.  Right now I am reading Fifty Shades Darker by E.L James....  these books are quite intriguing.

I can't believe it is November on Thursday,  It is quite something the way the time is flying by lately.  October went by in a flash that's for sure with Thanksgiving, my birthday, my school placement, work at the daycare, and also now Halloween. Whoosh!
It's almost time to knit some Christmas gifts again!  I better start thinking of ideas.

I hope you have a great Monday and start your week off amazingly well.

Get out the rakes and heart breaks....

Hello,

Today I was at work [at the daycare] and a gust of wind blew leaves over all the children and they were all so excited and giggled.  It is so sweet the amount of joy that they get from something so simple.

Simple moments..

I have been knitting my scarf and so far it goes down to the end of my fingertips.  I just have to knit a bit more to make the pockets.  Almost done!

keep going...  love this picture. Have to believe it right now.

I found out Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy broke up.  I feel bad for her because she keeps dating and seems to have trouble meeting the right one. There was Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, now Conor Kennedy.  I feel like I have been dating a lot and having trouble in love but at least when it ends, it's not in the public eye like with Taylor's romances.  Good Luck at finding love Taylor! you can read up on it more by clicking here.

Have a great night!

Pink sweet treats for the cause and the scarf is growing!

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a great week!  yesterday at the daycare, we had a Breast Cancer awareness day and all wore pink for the cause.  I wore a light pink long sleeve shirt and had a "in support of Breast cancer awareness" sticker on.  My mom's friend had breast cancer and is a Cancer survivor so it has touched my family in this way.  I bought these four cupcakes for the cause along with some Samosas (YUM) and some cookies :)

In other news,  the scarf is underway.  I have almost knitted the entire scarf I just need to knit the pockets now.  I am so excited to finish this piece, then I will start on my purple scarf for my mom :)  I knitted a lot of it while watching Breaking Bad surprisingly which is a kind of gory, morbid show... but kind of intriguing at the same time.
My 24th birthday
I had a great time out for my birthday  and went with a group of my closest friends to YukYuk's and then clubbing afterwards.  It was a lot of fun!  I still can't believe I am 24 years old though, I am starting to feel old! haha... I know I have a long way to go.

Have a good day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone,

It is that time of the year again when we start pulling out last year's warm clothing and bundling up.  It feels like it came so suddenly this year.  I am putting on my warm fuzzy socks hoping that my cold toes will defrost.  No luck yet.  Luckily my mother is turning on the furnace today so we won't be freezing for that much longer :)

Today I began my fall decorating that I do each year.  I take out last year's treasures and all the halloween and fall finds of years past and display them lovingly in my room.

I baked some blueberry muffins yesterday and made them in these cute Halloween muffin cups.  It is so nice at this time of the year to have the smell of baked goods in your home.  I loved the smell of blueberries as I baked them yesterday.

I have been knitting my sister's soon to be scarf with pockets.  It is getting longer each day I knit it while watching Glee or the bachelor.  It keeps my hands warm lately as well :)
It is Thanksgiving day and I am looking forward to spending the evening eating turkey with my family and visiting our cousin's family.
My favorite picture from last year's trip to the farmer's market to go pumpkin picking.  I hope to do that again this year!
It is my birthday in two days now, October 10th.  I recieved an email from Sephora that I recieve free Sugar lip balm pack of two lip balms.  I would suggest you get on their email list.  They give free gifts each year for your birthday which is a nice treat! :) Last year I got birthday girl shower gel and shampoo.

well that is all for today,
I just want to say....
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  I hope you enjoy this day with friends and family and loved ones and enjoy eating good food and stuffing yourself because this is the best day to do it and not feel guilty ;)

Lisa :)
