Knitting Pumpkin Hat, Puzzle, and Reading On

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I finished reading It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover. It was such a good book and definitely a page turner for me. I felt like reading it all the time to see what happened next. I asked for the next book in the short series; It Starts With Us for my birthday in anticipation that I would love the first one. I am so glad I did because I can't wait to get started on her sequel next. I cast on a pumpkin hat using the Cozy Pumpkin Hat pattern by Ksenia Naidyon. We are going to the pumpkin patch soon with Evan, so I wanted to knit him a pumpkin hat to wear while we were there. It is getting cold out too so will be good for him to have the festive hat to wear. So far I have knitted the hem and a bit of the body of the hat but still a ways to go to finish it.

I worked on my puzzle a bit this weekend that I haven't done in a long time. This one with the cats and books is fun to work on and there is a lot of detail. I managed to get some time to work on it when Millie was busy looking for a fly so she didn't attack the puzzle. It is just part of the puzzle below.

Millie is doing well. She was busy with the fly lately I think it flew away I haven't seen it for awhile. She is so gentle with Evan and he is still so excited when he sees here and she sometimes rolls over onto her back in a friendly way.

I was so happy to be able to take Evan out on a walk and use the Arches baby blanket I knitted to keep him warm. Soon it will be too cold and we will be getting him a zip up for winter walks in the stroller. Evan is also doing so well.  He is almost 11 months old now and wanting to walk and crawl everywhere. He is eating so many solids now and he is so curious about a lot we have around.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! I hope that you are having a good start to the week and had a good weekend. I am getting excited for Halloween now. I won't be doing too much, but I like to watch a Halloween movie and have some candy and chocolate on Halloween night.

Have a great day!

Knitting and Puzzle Progress

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. Happy April! This past week flew by and I got some knitting done on the arches baby blanket by LJM designs on Ravelry. I am happy to see more progress on it now and it is getting longer. I look forward to using it on our stroller walks and the weather is still cool now but there is hope for warmer weather around the corner.

Evan has been doing well. He is growing and learning a lot now. It is fun to see him progress and we do lots of mat time during the week. He is four months old now!

Millie keeping us company sitting on the glider in the nursery during nap time. She is happy sometimes to be close by but keeping her distance.

I was working on my puzzle again this past weekend and made some progress. Millie was attacking the pieces every once and awhile but then stopped and rested and let me work. I didn't get all the edge pieces set up like usual but working on getting that done now. I didn't read at all last week I will work on reading more this week.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope that you had a good weekend. What are you working on this week?

Happy Spring, Knitting, and Updates

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. This past week was busy with keeping up with Evan and running some errands. I find the weeks go by fast while on maternity leave. I know I felt like this with work too that the week went by fast, but sometimes they went by slower than now. I like that my days are filled with baby cuddles, smiles, and playtime. There are also busy and some challenging times to but we can always get past them and learn from them. I like seeing him meet his milestones and so grateful to be able to spend the 18 months maternity leave getting to know him and supporting his development. It is the first day of Spring tomorrow and I am feeling the change shift a bit already with the sun shining more and with daylight savings time it has been lighter out later. It was snowing today though, so it still feels pretty wintry here in Toronto.

I have knitted a lot this past week. I think I am getting more into creating a routine that allows for doing things I love to do. I can usually knit a bunch while Evan is napping like on Friday I was lucky and got to knit for a long time while he was taking a nap. Knitting is a priority of mine lately. I really want to finish the blanket because I am excited to use it for Evan's walks in the stroller in the Spring. I am still reading Book Lovers by Emily Henry. I read a bit of the book last night but I didn't read much last week.

I haven't done a plant update in so long,  I only have two plants now since we got Millie. I used to have a couple of philodendrons. One that was given to me by my mom, and one that I started growing from a cutting. Those are poisonous to cats so I gave them to my sister. Now I have the African Violet below that is still doing pretty well, no flowers yet but should flower soon this Spring. Millie doesn't bother with that one. The bamboo plant that is in the bathroom doesn't get much sun I moved it so Millie wouldn't eat it. Two of the stalks have died there is one remaining that I am thinking of repotting and putting in our bedroom on the high shelf away from Millie and see if I can bring it back to life. As the weather gets nicer, I look forward to having more plants outside on our rooftop terrace and our front porch.

On Friday night I had some wine and worked on my puzzle. It is a Cobble Hill puzzle that has both cats and books, two of my loves. The funny thing is when I work on my puzzle that has cats on it, it is easier if Millie isn't around because she likes to pounce on the pieces and chew on them. I like to do the puzzle when she is upstairs or napping.

Millie was enjoying the sun shining this morning on her cat tree.

My Long Weekend

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. This weekend turned into a very long weekend for me. I was originally scheduled to work on Friday due to our business being in the US. Then we found out this past week that we have Friday and Monday off. Friday was so relaxing, I worked on the puzzle and did yoga after so long not doing it. On Saturday we had some friends over for a BBQ, I got groceries and prepared beforehand. It was fun hanging out with them on our terrace and it was the perfect weather. Then on Sunday I had my parents over for a visit and we sat outside. Today is the last day off and I knitted, played Sims, did the puzzle, and did some cleaning and yoga.

I started knitting socks using the perfect pair yarn from Loops & Threads in the colorway drive all night. I am knitting the socks using Loops & Threads size US 2 2.75 mm double pointed needles. I love the pattern of the self striping yarn it looks so interesting. I am using the pattern for basic knit socks on the yarn label intermediate level.

I worked on the puzzle more after a long break and finished it. Millie loves to jump on the table onto the puzzle and bite the pieces. Today she did a bit then gave up when I stopped her a few times. Once she moved, I could finish it. I bought this 500 Ravensburger puzzle called Cozy retreat on Amazon. I loved working on this puzzle and wish I could jump into the scene it looks so cozy and fun place to just hang out and work on crafts and hobbies.

On Friday, Millie saw her chance to check out our storage box I was filling for under the bed and jumped in. She didn't stay in it too long and let me finish filling it up.

Millie was very relaxed and happy in this photo on Thursday night. She knew it would be a good weekend with lots of relaxing time with mom and dad.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! I am working to get back to my schedule after a long break off. I have been feeling good lately.  I still have some moments when I feel a bit nauseous but it is much better and less than in my first trimester. I hope that you all have a great week!

Weekend Working on the Puzzle and Relaxing

 Hello Friends,

I hope that you are doing well. The weekend flew by again and I didn't do as much as planned. I spent Saturday getting groceries, studying for my LOMA course, doing Laundry, and relaxing. On Sunday I studied more and then I chatted with my parents on Facetime for quite awhile and then relaxed and worked on my puzzle. Later on in the evening I watched Before the 90 days and planned my my Happy Planner for the week.

I worked more on the puzzle I had taken a bit of a break with the puzzle lately. It was nice and relaxing to work on it more.

I bought Millie a couple of new toys this weekend. Here she is below playing with the new toy that springs up when you push it down, has catnip inside and a feather on top. She went crazy over this toy right when I gave it to her. She was rolling around with it and was so playful.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! I hope that you also had a good weekend and have a great week ahead!

Knitting, Booster Shot, and Reading On

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. Last night Liam and I got our booster shots so we are now fully protected again against Covid and it feels great, except for the headache I have right now. It wasn't busy at the community centre where we went for our appointment after work and it was pretty fast.

I wasn't able to finish knitting the copy cat cowl this week because I ran out of yarn! I am ordering more yarn online tonight to finish the cowl and there isn't too much time to wear it before it is Spring.

I continued on with making my puzzle and I am loving it so far. I finished the edge pieces and was filling in more of the center pieces as I looked for edge pieces. Millie always jumps up on the table and sits on the puzzle making it difficult to work on the puzzle and she sometimes eats the pieces. Here she is lying right on the puzzle before I had to pick her up and put her down because she was eating puzzle pieces.

I am reading Expecting Better by Emily Oster and there are a lot of important tips in this book so far. I still want to read more of Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid but I haven't picked it up lately.

Weekend With Family and a New Puzzle

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. This weekend we got a few things done and I started my new Ravensburger puzzle called cozy retreat on Amazon. It is another cozy scene puzzle. I wish I could jump into this puzzle as it is a perfect scene and there's even yarn in the puzzle. I didn't realize I bought the large size puzzle pieces, so this puzzle will be big! I am still putting together the edge pieces and will keep working on the edges this week.

My parents came by to visit this Sunday and spend time with Millie. I also gave them photos from the wedding. We are still wrapping up wedding stuff even now it takes quite awhile for us to complete everything. I have plans to share on the blog my wedding day as I only shared one photo and have so many more to share now. It was truly a wonderful day.

After my parents left, Millie was very tired and slept about 5 hours. She had a lot of playtime during their visit.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! How was your weekend?

Have a great day!

Knitting Cowl, Knitting Heart, and Puzzle Updates

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I am glad we are mid week now and the week is going by quickly. I need another weekend to just relax and it is a special weekend coming up with my mom's birthday and Valentine's day early next week. I have been knitting the copycat cowl daily and loving it more as it is getting longer. I am looking forward to wearing it once it is done. I have been reading  a lot of The Bookshop of Yesterdays by Amy Meyerson.

I am also starting to knit some hearts for Valentine's day. I am using the Hearts pattern by Amanda Berry. I just started knitting one tonight so I will share photos of them soon when I am finished.

I am also working on the puzzle and made a bit more progress. I didn't do the puzzle this weekend much so I hope to make more progress on the puzzle this week and finish it. It is a fun puzzle and I feel so peaceful when I am sitting down working on it.

New Year's Weekend and Plans

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. This weekend I mostly relaxed and did some cleaning. I chatted with family on Sunday to catch up in the new year.  It is nice to stay at home at the start of New Years after a busy holiday season and doing some things to get organized and working out makes me feel more prepared to start the year of right. Today I went for an appointment and visited with family and will be planning for the week later on in my planner.

I did just a bit more of the puzzle I received from my sister for Christmas last night. I finished the edge pieces and now moving on to filling in the middle. I love this puzzle she got me from Indigo.

I am still knitting the classic christmas stocking by Betty Lai on Ravelry. I finished knitting the leg of the stocking, and will move on to the foot this week. I hope to be done on Wednesday this week and will share my next project ideas.

I finished reading The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews yesterday. This book was so enjoyable to read and I loved the small town setting and the people were all so sweet and caring towards one another. This book was so comforting and perfect to read around the holidays. I will be continuing on reading The Bookshop of Yesterdays by Amy Meyerson and also reading Expecting Better: Why the Conventional Pregnancy Wisdom is Wrong - and What You Really Need to Know by Emily Oster. My sister lent this one to me because I will be trying for a baby soon. I have been writing in my one line a Day journal. It is interesting now to also look back at last year's journals each day.

I forgot to share the ornament I ordered for Millie from the Etsy shop threepeakscompany this Christmas. The example ornament they had in the photo actually had Millie's name, so I could see how it looked with her name right away. It arrived looking as expected and I love it. Here is the ornament below with Millie checking out what I am doing taking photos on the plant stand. I was so happy to also receive a couple of other ornaments for Millie from my friend and my parents. It will be so nice to hang them all up next Christmas.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! I love the weekend of New Year's to reset and think of the upcoming year. This week I plan to do yoga everyday for at least 30 minutes, drink more water, and tidy each day. I am feeling more on track with my goals lately and feel like I want to continue on with this feeling of motivation. I hope that you are also having a great start to the New Year! the next blog post will be on Wednesday, hope you will join me again!

Have a great day!
