Supple Rib Stitch - Stitchy Saturday

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy. I knitted the supple rib stitch this morning. It is such a fun stitch to knit up and easy to catch on to the repetition in the pattern. After awhile you do not need to look at the pattern and can easily repeat the steps. I used a bright orange color yarn today that I have had in my stash for a long time. I used my wooden Brittany US 9 5.5 mm straight needles to knit up this swatch.

Pattern:

Cast On: Multiples of 3 + 1
  • Row 1: K1,*k1 leaving stitch on main needle, then purl the same stitch with the next stitch together, k1; rep from * to end.
  • Row 2: Purl all stitch.
  • Repeat rows 1 – 2 until you have reached your desired length.
Pattern from New Stitch a Day

I enjoyed knitting this stitch, it was a really simple stitch and the end result looks so nice. It can be used for a sweater or garment to add a nice simple texture. It is a fun stitch to knit and can be done with not too much attention and you can be doing other things. While knitting this stitch, I was catching up on watching YouTube videos.

I am enjoying getting back into learning new stitches for stitchy Saturday. It really gives me more of a challenge each week and I can work on my skills as a knitter. I would like to try a more challenging one for next week to share with you all.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope you give this one a try!

  1. That is a lovely stitch I'm sure I made a couple of squares with this stitch when I made my sampler blanket, it would look good for a hat too. xx
