It's Summer and Finished Knitting the Dishcloth

Hello Friends,

Hope you are doing well. Happy Summer! It was the first day of Summer here in Canada on Friday. It was also Liam and my 6 year anniversary dating and we celebrated by going out to an Italian restaurant we love and exchanging gifts. Next year will be the start to celebrating our wedding Anniversaries. We are getting married on May 2nd,2020 next year, so it is getting closer now and I still have to get the hair and make up, florist, cake, and decor figured out. But I have reached out to all of them now so hopefully by the end of July we have all of our vendors selected and can work on planning more details like decor and then choosing and finalizing details with the vendors after that.

I have finished knitting the Bernat dishcloth today and it looks great with the stripes of colors of blues and white. The colorway I used to knit the dishcloth below is tie dye stripes by Bernat. I have started knitting the next dishcloth with the same brand of yarn in the colorway potpourri ombre.

This dishcloth is a fun and quick knit and I love these knits as well, as they are simple and don't need to follow a pattern.

I have yet to order the needles to start knitting the shawl, but I will order them this week so I will get them during the week and can begin the shawl project.

I am still reading A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult. I enjoyed reading a lot of the book yesterday morning. My Saturday morning routine is to make a coffee and then lie down on the couch while reading my current book. It starts my day of right feeling like I have been productive and it is a calm welcome to the day.

How was your weekend?

Thank you for visiting my blog and hope you all have been enjoying the weekend.

Knitting a Dishcloth and Reading On

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. It is so much warmer now in Toronto and it has got me feeling more excited for Summer to come. I have been thinking of getting new clothes and sandals for the Summer.

Speaking of Summer and warm days ahead, this Bernat yarn I bought from Michaels the other day makes me think of waves on the beach. I was drawn to the different shades of blue and the white colors. I have thought of knitting dishcloths in the past but never did and because unfortunately I was unable to find the needles I needed at Michaels (wrong size!) I decided to order them online so that would take awhile by the time I got around to it. So I decided to knit a small fun project in the meantime. The yarn I started knitting with below is by Bernat in the colorway 'tie dye stripes' and I also bought the same yarn in the colorway 'potpourri ombre' I will probably use the same pattern: Cast on 37 stitches, knitting every row (garter) for 10 inches length and cast off.

I have still been reading A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult. I have spent more time reading recently and I am getting more interested in the story line. The book focuses on some important topics of debate such as abortion and women's rights and I find it so timely to what is going on right now in the States where women are fighting for their reproductive rights. It focuses on the feelings of all involved and their views of the situation involving a gunman and his victims. I finished listening to the audio book called What the Most Successful People Do on the Weekend by Laura Vanderkam. I am always interested in how to make the most of my time and something I always think about is how I have more fun on the weekends how I can feel more productive after a weekend. My main takeaway from the audio book is to decide ahead of the weekend what you would like to do and to plan at least two main activities you will do. She also suggests to write a "list of 100 dreams" of ideas for the weekend you would like to do. I thought of two today such as visit the zoo and go bike riding. This audio book was great to listen to right before the Summer so I can come up with ideas to fill my weekends with fun and meaningful activities while the weather is perfect for spending time outside.

Joining along with Frontier Dreams for Crafting On, Small Things for Yarn Along, and As Kat Knits for Unraveled Wednesday.

Thank you for visiting today! I will get knitting this project and get the needles very soon for the shawl and continue reading a Spark of Light. What are you working on and reading this week?

Have a great day!
