Stitchy Saturday Tassel Stitch

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I have been good, I am enjoying knitting the Age of Brass and Steam kerchief it is such a fun knit. I am happy it is the weekend, today my boyfriend and I are going to have a barbecue with friends,, then I will be visiting my family. It is such a sunny day today and feels warm outside so it is the perfect day for a barbecue and spending time outside. I came across the tassel stitch, when browsing for stitch ideas this week and it looked fun to knit. I enjoyed the simple pattern and I hope that if you try it out, that you enjoy it too!

Pattern from Studio Knit

What I thought:
I like the stitch, it was easy to knit up. It was good learning how to knit it. I would want to find out how to make it look symmetrical if I was knitting a scarf with this stitch. The left side of my work looked different than the right side. I think if I had knit a few more stitches it would have looked better with the full tassel stitch being complete on the left side. I think it is a fun texture and would be nice on a scarf or as a bag.

Knitter level:
Beginner: The stitch is easy to follow and the repetition is easy to learn after a few pattern repeats. It is a little confusing when reading the pattern to knit into the 4th and 5th stitch, but I watched the video created by Studio Knit and it was very simple after she explained it. You put the needle in between the 4th and 5th stitch then go to knit behind and then go back to the stitches that were skipped and continue the pattern.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog, it is always nice to read your comments and get your feedback. Have you knitted this stitch pattern before? if so, what did you knit with the pattern?

  1. The lack of symetry would have bothered me too. It is a cute stitch though and that purple is SO pretty.

  2. Thanks for friending me on Ravelry! Age of Brass and Steam has been in my queue for a while but haven't started one yet. Love your color/yarn choice!
