Knitting a Scarf and Continuing the Sweater

Hi Friends!

I hope that you are enjoying the week so far! I have been busy with knitting, reading a novel, planning in my Happy Planner, and exercising. I started knitting with dark blue yarn yesterday to make an infinity scarf with Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn and I am happy with how the ribbing is looking. I am also continuing on with knitting the back piece of the sweater that I started in December which will be a year long project.
Below are some photos of my scarf in progress and my sweater in progress. I will share with you how I am doing with those in my next post which will be a Yarn Along post. I did not share a Yarn Along post yesterday unfortunately because I was still working on the sweater and reading the same book and I would like to make it more interesting for you guys and not post the same pictures over and over again. I have made more time for reading this week so I should be done Truly Madly Guilty this week (it is getting so intriguing) and be starting a new book next week.

Scarf in the making - using size 13 US needles, and using Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Yarn in the color navy.

Sweater - back piece. Using US 10 needles and Lion Brand Homespun yarn in the color "clouds".

Thank you so much for visiting my blog, and I hope that you come back again next week for another update!

Soft Knitted Teal Hat

Hi Friends,

I hope you are all doing well on this huge day for Americans and the world with Donald Trump being Inaugurated. I watched the footage this morning and it was hard to see the Obamas go, they have done so many good things for people over the course of Barak Obama's eight year presidency. We can only hope that good things are ahead of us as well.
I finished my hat I have been knitting using Patons Roving yarn. I loved working with this yarn it is so soft and I love the color.  I added a pom pom at the end because I thought it would really complete the hat, and it looks so cute with it I am glad that I did.  I am entering the hat in Linda's January 2017 Stash-Buster link party and I am excited to share the hat with everyone. I love entering these link ups because I can see more of what you all work on and I can share what I work on with more of you.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and I hope you have a great weekend!

Yarn Along Wednesday: Knitting Valentine Hearts

Hello Friends,

I hope you are having a good week so far. I have been busy finishing up my hat I have been knitting for a couple of weeks. I had to take it apart and redo the decrease since there are so many stitches (92!) I was not used to decreasing such a large amount of stitches, so I am still working on it.  I have also been knitting up hearts for Valentine's day which is coming up soon. This year I decided to knit up some Valentine hearts using a pattern I found on Mollie Makes blog. Please follow the link to find the pattern if you would like to make your own. I will be making some as coasters and I might attach two together to make pouches for candy as gifts to loved ones.

Hearts made from Craftsmart value yarn and using 6 mm needles.
This week I am still reading Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty. I have been enjoying the book so far and am looking forward to reading on and finding out what happens in the story.

I will be knitting up more hearts and will share them with you in an upcoming post! Thank you for visiting my blog and hope that you have a good week!

Yarn Along Wednesday

Hello Friends,

I hope you are all having a good week so far and good second week into the New Year. I have been busy knitting my sweater and I also started another small project last week knitting another hat. I love knitting hats, and I have more experience knitting them now so they are quick to knit up. I just fell in love with the color of the yarn at Michael's and had to buy it. The color is Low Tide classic wool Roving yarn by Patons. The yarn is so soft and it has been fun to work with.
This week I am still reading Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty and I have gotten farther into the book. I am interested in the characters and how their stories will unfold. I am enjoying the way the story is told through the various character's points of view of the same situation. I enjoy reading how each character has a different perspective based on their interests and temperament. I am going to be eagerly reading this book in the next week to find out what happens at this barbecue which they are working up to gradually.

current interests, knitting a hat, reading Truly Madly Guilty and of course coffee
I received a Happy Planner from my mom for Christmas and I am really enjoying using it. I like to add stickers into the planner which is something I have not done before in a planner. It makes it into another forum for me to be creative. I got the fitness extension as well and I have been recording what I eat daily and exercises I do and it is helping me to hold myself accountable to eat better and exercise to meet those New Year's health goals. I like to plan on Sunday night and then I enjoy filling out other events that come up during the week.

Planning, Knitting, and drinking coffee
You can see what others are reading at the original Yarnalong post. What are you reading and working on this week?

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you have a great week!

Happy New Year!

Hello Friends,

Happy New Year! I hope that you enjoyed New Year's eve and welcomed the new year in good company and enjoyed yourselves. My boyfriend and I had some friends over and played games, watched Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve, and we had champagne at Midnight. I had a great time!
I love the beginning of the year it is a time for a fresh start and time to decide how we would like to spend the next twelve months (even if we don't stick to every resolution). I like to write a list every year of things I would like to accomplish and this year I made one. This year one of my resolutions is to knit a sweater. I started the back piece already to get the project going and I hope to be finished by the end of the year. This year I will also chose a word inspired by Ruth at her blog Raincloud and Sage who chooses a word every year. I loved this idea and I decided to choose a grouping of words after reading the article by Elizabeth Rider on her blog. The words I am choosing for this year are...

 "radiant, balanced, and consistent"

because they inspire me to both be my best and most radiant self but also to remain balanced and consistent in my work and in my relationships.
I am joining in the Yarn Along with Ginny Sheller this week so I am sharing the book I am reading and what I am currently knitting. You can see other blogger's posts and join in the Yarn Along by clicking here.
This week I am reading the book "Truly Madly Guilty" by Liane Moriarty. I am enjoying it so far and I have heard great things about this book. What interested me to this book was the mystery of what happens at the BBQ that changes the character's lives, and then I like to read how people cope with the aftermath of a big event in a novel. I am looking forward to reading on.
I am currently knitting the back piece for a sweater I started in December using Homespun yarn by Loops & Threads. I will be posting entries throughout the year when I complete each piece of the sweater as part of a series of posts that will be my journey of completing my first sweater. I also enjoyed using the mug I got for Christmas from Yarn Mamas. I love it!

Thank you for stopping by, I hope that the year 2017 is your best year yet!
