Blogmas 2021 Announcement - Knitting and Reading On

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I am excited to announce today that I am participating in Blogmas this year! I have been posting for Blogmas for the past three years and loved posting daily Christmas content. It always brings me a lot of joy at this time of the year to post more and connect with other bloggers.

I started knitting a Santa hat for my nephew. I am using the pattern Baby Santa Hat by Christina Toppen on Ravelry. Using size US 8 5 mm circular needles and the yarn is Canadiana in the colorways white and cardinal acrylic worsted weight yarn. I am still working away on the Breezy day in Berkley scarf, however I want to buy another skein of yarn to finish it.

I am still reading The Bookshop of Yesterdays by Amy Meyerson. Too be honest, I haven't been reading much lately and really would like to change that. I think this will be a great book and I will be making an effort to pick it up more often. I bought The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews from Indigo in a gift shopping trip. I can't wait to read it as I haven't read many Christmas books in the past and think it will be so nice to have a holiday book on the go.

My Santa themed knitting and reading of the week!

My husband bought me this Silk Peppermint Mocha creamer for my coffee a couple days ago. I saw a vlogger drinking it and really wanted to try it. He was so sweet to look for it for me at the grocery store after I mentioned it and doubting they would have it at our local store. I was shocked they had it. It is so delicious if you like peppermint flavor. I do not find it too sweet as I had been thinking it might be. I definitely recommend this one!

I got this wine glass from Indigo that says "this is my Christmas movie wine glass". I couldn't resist and got it about a month ago. I watched Dash and Lily on Netflix and one night drank my red wine out of this cup. It has a plastic lid on top, great for avoiding spills when Millie jumps onto the couch and it walking around. It felt so much more special just drinking from this cup. It really is the small things that make a difference to your experience.

Last weekend I went to visit my parents at their home and we decorated their Christmas tree. It was so much fun decorating and drinking eggnog and having a cupcake. We got Mary Browns chicken and salads and potato wedges for dinner. It was so special spending this time together. Moo is enjoying sitting beneath the tree.

Here is their tree all decorated and looking beautiful! I can't wait to put up and decorate my tree this coming weekend. I hope Millie doesn't climb it too much!

Knitting Blustery Day Scarf and Reading On

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I am happy it's Friday and finally the weekend! It has been a busy week and I need some time to rest and relax. I was knitting more of the Blustery day in Berkley scarf found on Ravelry.  It is coming along well now and I am enjoying the relaxing easy pattern to get back into the flow of knitting. Millie is always interested in watching me knit and bites the needles and plays with the yarn. Soon after I took this picture she started sleeping while I knitted.

Millie is now 6 months old and she is so fun and sweet. She likes to run around the house and she has been meowing a lot lately to let us know what she wants. Today I found her in her room on the cat tree perch looking out the window while Liam and I were working. She is more independent now and likes her alone time as well. We were happy all went well with her incisions from her spay and she has healed nicely. I am happy she can resume her usual play and is back to her usual energetic self.

I have been reading The Bookshop of Yesterdays by Amy Meyerson. It is good so far I think I will enjoy the story. I am still wanting to finish The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, but have to get my hold back from the library.
