Saturday Stitch: Butterfly Stitch

 Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. It was busy day yesterday, my family came to visit and I went to see our new house to show them, and then went shopping. I have the stitch post for today instead and will be getting back to my usual posting schedule next weekend. Today has been a lazy day knitting, relaxing, and I had time to work on this fun stitch. The butterfly stitch has such an interesting look to it and does look like a butterfly.I was a fun pattern to learn and I liked how the pattern repeats and you can learn it after awhile and watch tv or other videos in the background. I think it would add a fun design to children's sweaters or other garments.

Pattern:

Cast on multiples of 10 +7

Special abbreviation: Butterfly stitch: insert left hand needle down through the 3 loose strands below next stitch, purl the three strands together with the next stitch on the needle.

Row 1: K1, *sl5 wyif, k5, ref from * to last 6 stitches, sl5 wyif, k1

Row 2,4.8,10: purl all stitches in these rows

Row 3: rep row 1: K1, *sl5 wyif, k5, ref from * to last 6 stitches, sl5 wyif, k1

Row 5: rep row 1: K1, *sl5 wyif, k5, ref from * to last 6 stitches, sl5 wyif, k1

Row 6: P3, * Butterfly stitch, p9, rep from * to last 4 stitches, butterfly stitch, p3.

Row 7: k6, *sl5 wyif, k5, ref from * to last stitch, k1

Row 9: rep row 7: k6, *sl5 wyif, k5, ref from * to last stitch, k1

Row 11: rep row 7: k6, *sl5 wyif, k5, ref from * to last stitch, k1

Row 12: P8, * Butterfly stitch, p9, rep from * to last 9 stitches, butterfly stitch, p8.

Repeat rows 1-12
