Knitting, Gifting, and Reading

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. I hope that you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I had a great day with my mom and I was so happy she liked the blog post I wrote up about her and the knitted gift I gave her, which I will be talking about today.  Today I was doing some reading for one of my courses and then did some training and an exam online. I was also knitting my sleeve earlier and did some exercise. I did the daily workout on Toneitup.com.

Reading
So lately I have been reading a couple of books here and there, but not reading too quickly. I am currently halfway through The Nest and still towards the beginning of The Little Book of Hygge. I am enjoying both and look forward to reading on and discovering more about the family in the Nest. I must make more time to read them. I was thinking of 30 minutes before bed every night just reading to wind down instead of trying to cram reading in right before bed and when we are too tired and want to go to sleep. I have not been reading as much during the day because I get busy with other tasks, maybe I will today!

Knitting
I am still working away on the sock that I have been knitting with Bernat Sox yarn, and following the basic socks pattern. I have not picked this up too much in the past week because of trying to work on my other project which is the sleeve and also getting started on my online courses. I have been knitting up the sleeve for the 3timesChic sweater and so far I am increasing every fifth row twice. It is a relaxing knit because I can knit this while watching television or listening to Youtube videos or podcasts.

I knitted a bookmark for my mom for Mother's Day using Patons Astra yarn in the color of "Hot Lilac". I used this pattern for the bookmark, which I found while perusing Pinterest and looking for gift ideas. I love this stitch pattern, it is the horseshoe lace stitch pattern. If you want to know more about it, you can visit a Stitchy Saturday post I wrote awhile ago.

I am joining along with Frontier Dreams for Crafting On, and with The Little Room of Rachell for Yarning Along.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog to see what I am knitting and reading this week! If you would like to follow me to keep updated on when I post entries like this one, you can follow me on Bloglovin' and Google Followers.

Have a great day!

  2. lovely bookmark! I read the nest and loved it! I am working on my sweater (as you know) and have two shawls on the needles. I'm in knitting heaven. Also I'm still reading the Handmaid's tale. It's quite good.
