Shoppers Drug Mart Spend your points event! (September 2013)

Hello friends,

 I went on a shopping trip to Shoppers today and I don’t know how many of my followers shop at Shoppers Drug Mart but it is a great way to take advantage of some savings. I will be starting to post my purchases on the blog so I can also show everyone how great the points system is for saving money. In the past couple years, my mom and I have gotten into taking part in “Spend your points events”, meaning you can get more for your points on these specific days.

 If you are unfamiliar with the Shoppers Drug mart points system, it is a fun way of earning points on everything you buy in the store.  Once you have 8,000 points saved up, you can redeem $10 in points at the checkout.  At the highest you can redeem 95,000 points for $170 for example.   On the 'spend your points' days you can redeem points at the cash and use your points instead of money.  You can always do this anytime but on these special days you get more bang for your buck!

Today I redeemed 25,000 points for $50 ($16 extra! ) and only went over $5.55.  I purchased all the items below with points and had to pay 5.55.  (not bad!)

This week I will be concentrating on finishing the circle scarf I have been knitting, making peach cobbler, and updating my blog as much as possible!
