Blogmas Day 4: Holiday Knitting Plans and Advent

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. Today I am going to talk about what I am knitting, knitting plans and projects for blogmas, and what I am reading and reading plans for the rest of the year. I have been feeling more motivated lately to knit and read and have been making steady progress on both a scarf I am knitting and the book I am reading. I think it is because it is the end of the year and I see my motivation pick up to work on things like reading, knitting, and self development.

The scarf is coming along. It will be a skinnier and shorter scarf than I usually make, but I think it will be nice for warmer days when I want something lighter to wear. I love the colors in the scarf and how it was self striping. The yarn is from the brand Juniper Moon Farms and I purchased it at Romni Wools in Toronto.

I have been reading Girl, Wash your Face by Rachel Hollis and am almost finished reading it. It is a fun book to read and very inspiring. I think I will be picking up some more of Rachel Hollis' books. Her book she mentions called Party Girl sounds like a fun read. For the rest of the year I plan on reading a book I bought at the beginning of the year called The Inner Life of Animals by Peter Wohlleben and Jeffrey Masson and maybe starting to read How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie, another book I bought in the Summer. This is also one I should read each year to refresh myself on the book's lessons.

I have a lot of plans for knitting projects this Christmas. I will be going to Michaels tomorrow to purchase some yarn to knit a Santa. I found a fun pattern on Ravelry and I want to give it a try for blogmas and to add some more holiday knits to my apartment. I also will be knitting an ornament one day to share with you for blogmas. I have a gift I need to start knitting this week for my mom and I have the yarn for it already. I will also be seeing if they have any sales on Christmas decor at Michaels to add to my decorations. I will be sharing a Christmas decorating blog post for blogmas soon.

We have been opening our Lindt advent calendars each day so far. Yesterday was a hazelnut chocolate, it was delicious. I am already looking forward to open the one on Christmas Eve which is a big milk chocolate bear. What kinds of advent calendars do you buy? We used to get the advent calendars that had a Christmas detail on them each day which was cute and then we switched to Laura Secord and then now have been purchasing the Lindt ones for years. I would also like to try advent calendars which offer different products such as a different type of tea or yarn each day, those would be fun. Maybe next year!
