Happy Halloween! Knitting Neck Edge Finishing, and All Tangled Up in Yarn

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well. Today I have been baking some pumpkin pie to have for dessert tonight. I have also been busy working on assignments for my office administration courses that are due this week.

I am still working on finishing my 3timesChic sweater and have finished sewing up the seams on the sweater now. I have picked up the stitches along the back and front of the neck edges. I am going to knit two rows then bind of and I will be done. I will be posting a finished sweater on Thursday's post this week! I can't wait to be done!

I did not really know what to do when buying a hank of yarn, how to undo it and properly roll it into a ball. Now the yarn is all jumbled up. I did watch a YouTube video on how to untie the ties around the yarn, then to find the end and beginning strands and start winding around into a ball, but all the yarn seemed to tangle up while I was doing that. So I will be spending a lot of time untangling the yarn and rolling it into a ball. It will be a while before I can start on the socks. Wish me luck!

I made some pumpkin pie for Halloween using E.D. Smith Pumpkin pie filling from the can and used Ready Krust Graham for the crust. It felt like it took forever and I was worried about the crust burning more so the pumpkin filling would cook. We will be eating this tonight after dinner as a Halloween treat.

Reading:
I started reading Not Workingby Lisa Owens yesterday. I have wanted to read this for over a year now when my mom told me about it. So far I like the protagonist, she is very relate-able and her struggles with job searching and other things remind me of my own situations I have gone through in the job search. I will be experiencing this myself this month when I begin applying to jobs. I was reading Mercy For Animals by Nathan Runkle, and My Not So Perfect Life: A Novel by Sophie Kinsella but my loan expired so I have requested it again.

Joining along with Frontier Dreams for Crafting On, AsKatKnits for Unwraveled Wednesday.

  1. I bet you'll be so pleased when your sweater is done, the finishing off is always the worst I always think, My wool always tangles too, I have put it over the back of a dining chair in the past and that did help. Enjoy your pie!. :) x

    1. Yeah it seemed to feel like forever once I was done the knitting part of it. The sewing of seams was not my favorite part! haha glad to hear others have problems with the tangles too. I hope it gets better over time because it is so time consuming untangling it all before I can knit!

  2. Beautiful knitting! And, nice book suggestions - I have read none of them and have added them to my very long "to read" list! (Also, I hate when skeins of yarn do not cooperate! Good luck untangling!)

    1. haha yeah it has been a mission untangling this yarn. But it is kind of relaxing untangling it while I watch tv or YouTube channels. I do however want to get started on the knitting part so that keeps me going on untangling. Thank you glad you like it!
