Knitting my First Sweater: Back Piece Finished

Hello Friends,

Happy Family Day to those who live in Canada! I have finished the black piece of the 3TimesChic sweater I found on Knitty.com. This pattern was rated "tangy" on the website, which is intermediate because it is one level above "mellow" which are patterns for beginners on the website. The pattern appealed to me because of the simple design and I like the V-neck neckline and the length of the sweater.
I enjoyed knitting the piece and I found the pattern very easy to follow. I like the pattern and I like how the stripes look down the sweater where the purl stitches were in the pattern in between knit stitches.  It was a repetitive pattern and the pattern called for knitting 24 inches before beginning to bind off. The next step is to knit the front piece which is identical to the back piece except that once I am finished the armhole shaping, I will begin working on the neck shaping. Once I finished this piece I was excited to see the shape and it is beginning to look like a sweater. I am looking forward to starting the front piece and seeing more of the sweater coming together.
