Yarn Along Wednesday: Knitting Valentine Hearts

Hello Friends,

I hope you are having a good week so far. I have been busy finishing up my hat I have been knitting for a couple of weeks. I had to take it apart and redo the decrease since there are so many stitches (92!) I was not used to decreasing such a large amount of stitches, so I am still working on it.  I have also been knitting up hearts for Valentine's day which is coming up soon. This year I decided to knit up some Valentine hearts using a pattern I found on Mollie Makes blog. Please follow the link to find the pattern if you would like to make your own. I will be making some as coasters and I might attach two together to make pouches for candy as gifts to loved ones.

Hearts made from Craftsmart value yarn and using 6 mm needles.
This week I am still reading Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty. I have been enjoying the book so far and am looking forward to reading on and finding out what happens in the story.

I will be knitting up more hearts and will share them with you in an upcoming post! Thank you for visiting my blog and hope that you have a good week!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello Friends,

I have been so busy with school work and my school placement that I have not been knitting and posting as much as I would like to! I decided to knit this heart up tonight for you ! I followed the pattern that I had posted in my last post to knit a heart using a pattern by Design Sponge.  It was easy to follow the pattern and I love how it turned out! I like the idea to make the blanket stitch in a different color it looks cute :)

Lots of love for all my followers on Valentine's Day! I hope you all have a great day with family, friends, and your sweethearts :)

Valentine's Day Ideas

Hello Friends,

How has the year 2015 been treating you so far? So far the year has been a busy for me. I started my second semester at University and started placement for the course.  I am enjoying the program a lot so far and I am looking forward to all I will learn in this semester.

I was affected by the news a few days ago that Target Canada was closing down because both my mom and I work there part time.  I have enjoyed the time I have worked there, the people I have met and the memories I will cherish. Below is a photo of the Target dog I received while working there for a great team card of mine being drawn.

Photo of the Target dog plush toy I received for recognition of my work there.

Lately I have been so busy with school and work and placement that my knitting has unfortunately taken a back seat but I will definitely be trying to work knitting into my schedule as time goes on because it is so important to me.  There are some cute valentine ideas that have caught my eye that I could knit up quickly and they would work with my busy schedule. Below are some ideas that caught my attention and I will  be knitting them up! :) enjoy

1. Crochet envelope from  the Crochet Spot blog! I love this idea.  Although I cannot crochet, I can knit this instead its a cute idea.

Hello Friends,

Valentine's day is just around the corner! (22 days away) and I decided to share some knitting project ideas so you can have some fun things knitted up just in time for Valentine's day.  These are things you can knit up for a loved one or for yourself!  I would love to knit myself some of these things like the infinity scarf and the mug cozy, maybe I will!
Below are five of my favorite ideas of knitting ideas especially for Valentine's day.  All of these ideas and photos are from other people and I have included links to follow to see more of their work and the patterns for these projects.  I hope you enjoy looking through !

1.  Knitted candy pouches.
This idea was found on Pinterest! These are so cute and a great way to give candies as a gift to a loved one!

 2.  Valentines with a knitted heart.
I love this idea from The Sitting Tree, it incorporates the knitted touch and looks so sweet.  I think the heart would be fairly easy to knit up and the rest can come from the heart inside!

 3.  Red brick infinity scarf.
I like this idea found on Etsy from madamepeace.  It would be great to be wearing a cozy red infinity scarf around this time of the year!
