My new Mission!

Hello!

I have been thinking lately to jazz up my blog a bit and post goals to become a better knitter. I think my knitting ability is still beginner and I need to challenge myself!

So I will be starting daily entries on my mission to become an AWESOME knitter! not good, not great.... awesome.

So I will set up goals to accomplish, once that one is accomplished, then I will move on to the next goal.

My ultimate goal is to knit a sweater so come follow my journey!

This Christmas... I gave you my heart

Good Morning!

& happy December :) I cannot believe how fast November went and I felt like I had tons of time to go Christmas shopping. Now we only have 21 days until christmas morning gift opening :o

I have been knitting a gift for a friend lately and I will be knitting like crazy this month because my friends and I are having a Christmas get together and giving homemade gifts this year! I know, so cute right? I will post photos from that day because I have a feeling the presents will be so adorable. I have very creative friends I realized when we came up with this idea of homemade gifts.. one bakes and crochets, one sews and interested in fashion, and the third paints and is very artistic, and me of course I knit :) so there will be a variety in the gifts that's for sure. I'm really excited!

In other news, my boyfriend is now asking me to knit him a puppy dog hat. He wants the ears to hang over his ears like a dog's would. I love him so much so I can't say no to this request and it sounds like a challenge and I am up for challenges in knitting :) I also got him a moustache mug it's really cute I hope he likes it :)

Today I am going to be a grown up and go car searching with my dad. I might finally choose the model and color that I want and then it will give me a better idea of what to buy soon. I need a car now because I still live at home and the schedules of my family and I are getting tangled up and I can never have the car during the day, which makes my placement for school difficult to get to in January.

Christmas tree decorating!

Hello Everyone!

Tonight I decorated the Christmas tree with my family. It was so fun to hang up all the ornaments that have become a tradition to hang in our family. My mom absolutely adores christmas ornaments, she has a huge collection. The tree is literally packed with ornaments, I don't think there is space for anymore. I bought her the new Starbucks ornament this year.

huge mitten thumb and other events

Hey all,

How is everyone doing? It was a really cold day today here in the Toronto area. I was outside freezing with the kids and really needed mittens that close at the top! (I'm wearing open finger mittens at work- silly me)

I knitted my first mitten and the thumb turned out to be HUGE! It is my very first attempt. A word of advise for all you beginner knitters out there(like me), make sure when watching a video on how to knit something you count how many stitches the person did. My thumb was about 20 stitches longer than the woman in the videos. (lol)

In other news, my photo finally appeared on the Blacksheep and Ewe website!! I kept checking back and I had gone in October. I'm glad they posted it. This was from a craft fair I went to and they loved that I had used one of their scarf kits from the year before so they took my photo for their website :)

Sunday adventures

Hello!

I just got home from a whole day of shopping with my mom and sister and I am so tired now. I realise I am not as interested in shopping as I once was. It may be because I only wear polos and jeans 5 days a week for work and there's no need for any fashion sense there. Also the dresses that I used to get excited by to get all dressed up and go clubbing in only make me feel nostaligc now. I don't really go out clubbing anymore, don't know if it's a me thing or an age thing.

So this morning I knitted a lot of my friend's scarf for Christmas while I watched 500 days of Summer. This movie is so good for anyone who's broken up with someone just because the feeling wasn't there. It makes you feel less wierd for doing so.
I am tackling a mitten project now and it's not going so well but I must keep going because eventually I will knit them and forever have the skill of knitting mittens. I can't wait!

I did the counting down and it is 50 days away from CHRISTMAS! I love christmas time, it is one of my most cherished times of the year. I love the displays, the holiday drinks at Starbucks, the tree lights, the cheerfulness of the holiday, the happiness children feel when writing their lists. Best time of the year :)

Loops & Threads Pom-Pom wool

Hello!
I got this cute wool from Michaels awhile back and decided to use it to make a cozy scarf :) It's called Loops & Threads Pom-Pom and I found it at Michaels. Here's a link to see the wool and the colors that it can come in.

This is what it looks like all bunched up in a ball...

Then once you knit with it for awhile it turns into just fuzziness

You can easily see the stitches on your needles, so it's not too difficult to knit with. I was thinking that binding off may be a little tricky though.

It's fun to knit with so far and sooo soft! I recommend that this wool be on your knitting needles this winter.

A trip to the pumpkin patch....

Hello everyone :)
so the boyfriend liked my scarf last night. He put the ends together and then pulled them through the middle. I am so happy to be done and that it was a success :)
I have started on another piece that is a christmas gift for a friend, another striped scarf which I do enjoy knitting.Today I went to the pumpkin patch with my family! here are some photos from the day. It was perfect weather and a great time. Our shoes got stuck in the mud as we were walking though... must remember next year to wear rain boots. :P

Boyfriend's scarf complete with a few more adjustments

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying this fall day. It's raining here and I am glad that I am home now.

I got my hair cut today. This always makes me feel really good and refreshed. I got it cut at a mall nearby and of course it began to rain as I was leaving so I had to shield my hair from the rain. Here's a picture of how it turned out!:

Did you know you can actually get feathers put in your hair now? my hair dresser told me its like hair extensions but with feathers instead. Here's a link to explain further.

I am so thankful for the weekend when it comes because it allows me to slow down and take some time to focus on myself and most of all, my knitting.

I finished the red and blue scarf I was working on for my boyfriend. I just need to weave in the ends that were left at the beginning of each row.

Tim hortons: a stress release

Hello :)

Today was such a gloomy day and I work at a childcare center and we could not even get the kids outside to play today so it felt even longer!

At the end of my day I drove with my mom first to no frills, then to Tim Hortons, our favorite after work spot.

I got the delicious cafe mocha and a pumpkin spice muffin, both were soooo delicious and my mom and I devoured them once we got home. It's nice to treat yourself after a long day at work especially after a rainy day.

I came across an article in my Nylon magazine that talked about a knitting website that offers knitting patterns and has knitted products for sale. They have a jacket called "the James Dean Jacket" that resembles his denim jacket, but its a knitted version of course. There are also video tuturials for knitting beginners which I found helpful as well. Check it out!

Knitting related book spotlight: Knit Two

Hello !

I have started reading Knit Two, which is the second book in the Friday Night Knitting Club novel series.

I am loving that the group we all fell in love with is back together again. There is a big difference however, (which I won't disclose incase you haven't read the first book) and it is interesting to see what happens afterward. I am on page 101 and I can tell this will be a real page turner. Kate Jacob's is very talented in creating a group of friends that feels like your own. Both knitters and non- knitters will love it! and maybe even start knitting because of it....

Striped Superman scarf

I started this scarf for my boyfriend Kris last week. He wanted the colors red and blue for a striped scarf. I enjoy making something that I know will keep him warm in the fall and winter. It is definitely getting colder here in Toronto..

The wool is Bernat and the needles are size 6 mm US 10. I casted on 30 stitches . The stripes are 15 rows each.

Cozy up with a book

I am currently knitting a blue and red striped scarf for my boyfriend, which when I began knitting it realised are the superman colors. He is my superman :) I am so excited to finish it and give it to him. ( I'll post a picture soon of my work in progress)

I just finished A Life in Stitches by Rachael Herron last weekend. It was very good and inspired me to knit more and one day knit a sweater. Rachael wrote about her own growth as a knitter and what she knitted at important times in her life. She knitted a sweater when she was 11!! I have a lot of catching up to do.

It is interesting when she talks of the "boyfriend sweater". If you knit a sweater for a boyfriend or even start the relationship will be doomed. It was comedic but at the same time made me worry about my striped scarf but hopefully there is no correlation between scarves and breakups. Have any of you knitted a sweater for your boyfriend even when you heard this speculation?

I am working on reading Knit Two. It looks just as cute and cozy as the first. I cannot wait to have time to sit down and read this amazing book. I also have knit for the season so I look forward to reading this around Christmas time.

Hey !

Here comes the fall again. I love this time of the year. I went to my local craft fair again this year and picked up some wool from blacksheepandewe.

I was wearing their Amelia wool scarf and they noticed so I actually ended up gettting my picture taken for their website! I'll post the link to their site when it's up :) I was so excited and the people were sooo friendly.

I bought a few new wools while I was there to make two ruffle scarves and one cowl. I'll post when I am done them :)

Simple Sunday

Happy Sunday, I hope you are all doing well and accomplishing the things you set out to do! I am trying today to get things done, cleaning my room, went to proactice highway driving, and according to my dad, I was excellent! :D my G test is in March, so I still have plenty of time to practice driving along and merging onto the highway..

Knitting To Do's!

I took a photo of my yarn stash this morning and decided to share it with you. I hadn't realised just how much yarn I've accumulated over the years. I see a color i like buy it, and then I guess don't use it. But I will be knitting more I assure you :)

Happy Weekend!!

I am so happy it's the weekend now, it's been a busy week with the kiddies at work and early shift! waking up at 5:45 every morning. I slept in until 9 30 today, it was heaven....

I got started on some socks the other night I just need to figure out what a "panel pat" is then I am off and running! they will be gray with a cable knit stich running down the side. They look really cute in the picture. Let's see if I can match it ;)

I am going to a child's birthday party today in 15 minutes actually and going to do the wole pizza lunch, cake and games thing. I am helping out my friend she has 3 boys.

Well I hope you all enjoy this fine saturday ! and maybe go tobagganing if you have snow like me up to your knees :)

A night for relaxation

Hello Bloggers ♥

Tonight was a wonderful relaxation night. One of those cozy nights after work when you have no agendas, nothing you HAVE to do....
so here's how this fabulous night went down...

First, when I got home I logged onto my computer and signed onto my blog, looked around and also looked through my favorite blogs to see updates. I thought about how to make mine better. I can spend a lot of time doing this :)

Then decided, I need some cozy at home clothes and changed into my pjs and very comfortable slippers :)

Then I picked up "The Friday Night Knitting Club" and read about 10 pages until I decided to take a 30 minute nap so I wouldn't feel so sleepy. I woke up at 5:45 this morning!! :/

Then, since I live in Ontario and we have the three part drivers license [G1,G2, AND G] I booked my road test for my G [final step to getting my full license] ! so happy about that :) except it took forever to load, not just 60 seconds... gr.

Well it was a good one, tomorrow night I'll be at a work workshop and the night after, a meeting so they won't be so lovely. That's probably why I am appreciating this night so much :P

Done knitting the scarf :)

Hey friends :)

I am done knitting the scarf now. I just have to sew the hand pockets up at the ends of the scarf, and I'll post a picture of that tomorrow and how I made the whole scarf. It is a gift for my sister she has really wanted me to knit her one :)

As for the break up, I am doing better. I am still having doubts creep in, but thanks to my wonderful support team; my family and friends I am making progress in believing I made the right decision. Thank you all so much! :)

Revamp!

Hey friends!

So tonight I was reading part two of the new book, called "It's called a breakup because it's broken" by Greg Behrendt & Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt. This second part is called break- over! apparently it's the moving on part of the book. I am glad I am at this point but still leaving the poor me and poor him and aw the relationship ended stage.
I was forced to buy it by my mom, I think she was sick of listening to my moaning lol. The book is actually quite funny and sooo true!

It has been helping a lot with my recent break up with my 7 month boyfriend.. tear. I just cheated and looked at his facebook, yes still facebook buddies,

bad idea? yes.

I think he's having a party soon, whoopdy-do, what am i doing, nothing? well I was thinking of going clubbing before, so maybe that this weekend just to get out as a single girl again.

SO, I read in this part that moving your room furniture and getting rid of stuff that reminds you of the person is a good step. So tonight I moved my desk on a cool angle towards on of the corners of my room :) it looks cool and it actually makes this area of my room look very different. Also the chair he used to sit in when we were talking and I was lying on my bed moved to another spot so it doesn't remind me of the past. U revamped my room! now I just have to totally clean my room there is mess everywhere. So no knitting for tonight unfortunately :(

Hello !

So tonight I will be knitting again :) and watching modern family. I LOVE that show! it is the perfect sitcom and always funny, the writer's are geniuses :)

Today was easier, and I even got a text from him saying I will always have a place in his heart and he will always care for me, that was nice. He also said he really wanted to catch up in the near future. I was so happy to get his text especially after he said we needed a 2 month no text time lol and I was the one who broke up with him? confusing. Anyways it made me happy at the time.

It's hard to say goodbye...

Hey friends,

Today was a bit better with the whole break up. I went to work and thought of him a bit with the kids[work at a daycare], then at lunch thought of calling him, then after work thought about him again. Why is it that I am thinking about him more now than I did when we were together? It's a frustrating thing, this was one of the many reasons why we broke up, was that I didn't think about him much during the day and didn't feel like calling, seeing him etc... which made me feel like I wasn't giving the relationship my full attention. So that brings me to today, feeling like I missed him & wanted to talk to him..... sooo annoying these emotions. I never can trust them. I will have to remain strong and hope that they will pass and we can remain good friends. Because something did not work.

Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone!

It is now 2011! I hope you all had an enjoyable New Years Eve with friends and family.
I was getting over a break up that night which kinda sucked. I stayed home with the parents and drank "girls night out wine" which was so good. I had broken up with my boyfriend the night before because there was just something not working between us [in my opinion]. But to make matters worse, he didn't feel the same way, he was happy in the relationship. Ultimately, I had to do what was best for me. But it has still been a struggle thinking of all the good times and memories but a lot of them were more towards the beginning of the relationship. The end was a struggle of figuring out my emotions. I lost that loving feeling by the end. *tear* but I think we'll be fine, he seems to be doing well and from the looks of his face book page, he is coping well. I am also glad he wanted to stay facebook friends, because I would never see him otherwise since we live farther away and no mutual friends. I haven't been knitting much because of it, I haven't had much motivation until today to actually get off my butt and get doing and accomplishing things.

Well I think today I'll tackle and finish the scarf and then set forth on a new project. I am still working on the book " The Friday Night Knitting Club" it is still excellent and very long, but I think I might be delaying it a bit because I like it so much ;)

I have been working on a scarf for my sister made from this beige wool. It's turning out wonderfully and I am almost done :D

I have been reading "The Friday Night Knitting Club" by Kate Jacobs which is turning out to be a great read! and possibly going to be added to my collection of favorite books :0 There are 3 more books of the series, I got this one and "knit for the season" for Christmas thanks to my mom :)

Hey Bloggers!

Today (much too late I know) I am going to Michaels to pick out the wool I need to begin the fluffy cuff mittens :) I am super excited to get started on this prtoject!
I found a cupcake pillow pattern as well in this "Picture perfect knits" book (pg. 57) by Laura Birek that I'd love to take on once this one is completed. I always have so many ideas and I just need to get started to complete them all.
So I am getting really excited for the fall now, i can't wait for the leaves to fall off the trees, is that weird? should i be sad summer is leaving? truth is, I have had an awesome summer and ready for an awesome fall as well. I am such a fall person, I get creatively inspired and want to make make make in the fall, the summer not so much. The winter I knit gifts for others so it is an equally fun, creative time. :)

Fluffy Cuff Mittens: step one, decision to make them

Hey all !

Okay so since I HAVE NOT BEEN KNITTING at all! I will be knitting some fluffy cuff mittens I found in my stitch 'n bitch book :) [Stoller, Debbie, pg. 180]
I thought that they looked adorable and why not? just because it's summer, but soon it will be winter and who doesn't need cozy mittens ? :) I am quite excited because i've never taken on a challenge such as this, and hey if I get good, maybe I can knit them for family and friends and maybe my boyfriend? I think he'd love a pair ;)
I am listening to George Michael's "Last Christmas". I just got into the mood, which probably sparked this need to knit the mittens lol. . it makes me want it to be cold outside making it nice and cozy inside.. so romantic :)
Okay so I promise promise promise that I will be posting photos regularly of my progress and they WILL be knitted! :)

I have been feeling saddened by the fact that I am not knitting.. :( I never decided, I am not going to knit anymore. The interest just faded I guess, but there was a time I was almost obsessed with it and about becoming a better knitter and yearning to make clothing and all. I want to be that girl again and pick up those needles! It's a part of who I am now and I am not embracing this self :/
I will pick up the needles tonight and knit something/ anything then post later on.. I also would love to get this blog up and running again I hate that it's been sitting, collecting dust for awhile now...

anyways! I better begin ;)

Past weekend and getting knitty

Hey all :)

This passed weekend I went with my sister to this pottery painting place nearby. I painted a butterfly and felt very much like a big kid again, was fun, while she painted a cat and a cake! was really fun actually and we eavesdropped on other people around us lol

Today is "Random Thursday" I called it. Today I will begin to knit my cube. I had the idea of knitting a cube with different types of stitches just for fun, maybe my toddlers can play with it when im done ;) I work with toddlers at a childcare center.. I just love Meg Ryan andTom Hanks together, they make such a cute pair, like in you've got mail as well. Meg Ryan is one of my favorite actresses, I just love her acting style. I also just recently watched serious moonlight that she acted in, and she's the same even 17 years later :)

FRIDAY: FAVS

Hey everyone! it's Friday yippee I went out for a bike ride and enjoyed the nice air against my face. I enjoyed seeing all my neighbours out and about working outside and also biking or walking. I am working on my fitness and trying to lose those last 10-15 pounds haha that hardest to lose! :( In other news.. I joined plentyoffish.com about 3 weeks ago, met someone kind of great :P but there's just some reasons that would make the relationship difficult but I might risk it? they aren't huge but just ethnicity, I was involved with an Indian guy before and he didn't want to tell his parents about me! and this guy seems wonderful, but hes 3rd generation Pakistani! what should I do??? go for it or put on the brakes because of my past experience? he seems so sweet..

This week I decided to post this picture of the Dalmation bag I tossed because it was old. I have so many things I've kept from my childhood and after looking it over decided to toss it because of it's not so clean interior... Hello my lovely Followers :)

I got home late last night and was too tired to do anything but lie down on the couch, so I am sorry I missed out on Wednesdays theme of take a photo of my room. The good news is, that today I will post both a picture of something from my room AND the world event/ news clip to discuss!! :D

so firstly,
I think this would be my favorite post because my objects are important to me and are a huge part of who I am. I know (hoarder much?) I watch that show too too much so now I think i'll get attached to all my things and never part with them.

Today's item is...... *drum roll please*

My porcelain sock monkey!

There is a pottery painting place nearby and my friends and I went there one day and just painted! It was fun, we got to choose the pottery piece and the paint colors and then they fired it for us and out it came looking very shiny and loved it :)

It started March 25th,2010 and had an eruption on April 19th,2010. Pretty crazy stuff. It's delayed and canceled tons of flights because of the smoke and ash. I find volcanoes really intriguing because it is so huge and so unstoppable. I loved the movie "Dante's Peak" it was just so intense and realistic as to how one would feel in a small town near a dormant volcano that went from not harming to alarming in a week's time.

Hey everyone!

Sorry long time no post :P I have been working with the little ones and enjoying every minute of it, such sweet moments.

I haven't been knitting lately but instead I have been decorating my room. I bought some adorable Polaroid photos from Urban Outfitters just last weekend and taped them up on my wall, 12 of them. I also hung some up with clothespins in a string of wool up on my wall. Love these things.

Already? wow my weeks feel like they wizz by!
I am working 7-4 this month so I have to get up very early and am so tired in the afternoon when I get home.

I was cravinggg McDonald's coffee this afternoon because my sister picked one up before work and I had to smell it, but was already home and frankly, I didn't feel like going out too tired haha
Sooo tonight it the biggest loser, it's back! after 2 weeks break probably because of the Olympics. It's an inspiring show, I'd love to lose around 15 pounds.. like a majority of people on this planet.

I am dying to go to Toronto this weekend and browse the shops and just be near the tall buildings again, I will probably bring one of my friends :D leeanna? haha if you're reading this interested? ha it's just a feeling, like I needd to do it! well it would be fun.

OMG the bachelor was on last night, I'm happy with his choice although I know a lot of people are thinking WHYYYY!? I liked Vienna and also tenley wasn't right for him, I saw it. I wish them much happiness for the future. Allie is going to be the next bachelorette! I didn't really like her much but ill watch anyyways... to check out the guys ;) ta-ta for now!

It snowed here finally in Ontario, Canada!
did it ever, I wanted to get home and stay put and put my feet up on the couch and watch the bachelor tells all after work :P

I've really been watching the Olympics lately, its so interesting I'm really interested in the hockey! I might become a major hockey fan all of a sudden lol but yeah it sucks that Canada lost to the US.. bah. I was really rooting for them. Hopefully Canada can beat Finland tomorrow and then the 3 other teams, and get to the gold :D

defining ourselves

Jillian jiggs and her pigs, she made all those pigs then couldn't part with her creations, I am her. I am nerdy in the sense that I will play video games for hours, or just persistent in my gaming endeavours. A light weight and I like it that way, I don't shy away from a drink. dancer at night in the clubs I enjoy doing my thing, and shaking it as well.. ;) sensitive and intuitive I can read people and also I feel worried, almost anxious that people can read me. OCD sometimes :P

I think I got to thinking about this defining myself after spending the night/ without sex with a guy at a party jsut talking and making out, he called me weird then kissed the back of my neck. I thought about it and weird isn't so bad, I am weird and I know it. Wh ydo we try so hard to be coool? and isn't it cooler to be weird and interesting. I jsut find it funny i've been called weird by 3 guys i've been interested in. I didnt proceed to be in relationships with any of them but they all liked me for a brief period of time. It's just funny I guess to me..

well I don't really know if this made any sense I just rambled but it's fun sometimes.

Hi happy hump day!!

So I haven't talked much about my job on here... I work in a childcare center I won't say where exactly but it is with toddlers and I seriously LOVE it! I love my job. I am shaping children and making them feel amazing each day, I know I do because I give them so much love and support. It is such an amazing feeling to be doing what I do.

I have always wanted to achieve this happiness and so happy I have. The salary isn't too exciting but I can get up in the morning excited to start my day and that's worth a million dollars to me :D

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday night :) As promised I have posted the projects I worked on this weekend.

My own cellphone holder, like the one I knitted for my sister.

Heart garland
made from felt cutouts of hearts and white wool. I added the give love tag that was attached to socks from pink.

Got this idea from Cakies' blog.
Click here to see how she made hers, I made mine much like hers but used felt instead.

Everything together, I made the felt heart and stuffed it with poly-fil for my sister and her boyfriend, it says K+C .

Happy Thursday!

It is almost the weekend! so fast approaching, just one more day we're almost there!
I plan to be very creative this weekend because during the week I wasn't working on project too much and would really love to.

Some ideas I have really been considering are:

Hearts- felt hearts sewed up and filled with poli-fil. My sister wants me to put her and her boyfriends names in the heart :P so I'll make her one too, and post it ;)

Continue working on my crafting area- fix up the spice rack, add more crafting object to the jars, clear off my desk space.

Finish knitting the green cellphone holder- I started knitting it, I must finish it this weekend and add a cute little button

Start knitting the gray tank top- start it up again, this time really understand the instructions..

Time flying, crushes, and biggest loser ;)

Hello :)

So today is Tuesday, the week usually flies by after this day. I also love my job, that's probably why it flies. It feels like it is just the weekend and boom! here it is again.

So lately, I haven't been working on anything these passed two days. I still have that green cellphone holder on my needles that I will be finishing soon.

I have a new crush? not a good one but I acknowledge it... crushes are silly things, we know the person is taken or is wrong for us yet we still can't help how we feel. Just putting it out there. Just a silly crush. That makes me smile.

The Biggest loser is on in 30 minutes, this takes up a good portion of my night. Considering I just woke up from a nap like 15 minutes ago too. I am not overweight but I find the show so inspiring and so real. I love how they really delve into peoples lives and the reasons behind their overeating. check it out if you haven't seen it!

Grammy Awards

Good Morning!

It is Monday again, the beginning of the week. I hope you have a great first day back into the swing of things!

Last night I watched a bit of the Grammys. I saw Lady Gaga's performance, have to say it wasn't my favorite, and when they started saying she's a monster, I had hoped they would sing Monster but no, we got speechless yet again. The cool part was when they threw her in the flames though, she always seems to come up with new ideas, I really admire her she is so creative with her performances and I am always excited to watch. Elton John being there was cool, it was random but cool. I like your song so I enjoyed it.

Pink did a cool acrobatic performance, it looked awesome, you could tell there was so much practice involved in that. I appreciated that she really put the effort into hers too.
I wonder if people got wet when she turned into a human sprinkler? I sure wouldn't have wanted to be under her after she drenched herself in water and then twisted down.

Hello!

Today I got crafty right before heading off on yet another shopping spree. This is apparently the weekend for shopping. I hadn't planned on shopping all weekend, it just seemed to happen that way. Anyways, I made this cloud and raindrops right before I left with the family to shop.

I used blue and gray felt, bought from the dollar store and light pink thread to sew up the ends. First I cut out two cloud shapes out of the gray felt, then sewed them together and then stuffed the inside with poly-fil. I then used the same light pink thread to hang the raindrops from the cloud.

Then once I got back from the mall, I made this picture line, inspired by one I saw at pottery barn today while shopping. It does the trick, I love how I can easily just add or take away a photo, I love the new addition to my room.

It's Friday :)

I am so happy it's Friday because this week, while working at the daycare, I have gotten a horrible cold that I just cannot shake. I have a sore throat, stuffed up nose and sneezing every 5 minutes. I am hoping I can rest up this weekend and hopefully it will go away for next week...

But, it's the weekend! so i'll have time to shake this :)
I watched "All about Steve" tonight, it was hilarious, I recommend this one if you want something funny and light to watch one night. Also if there's someone you like who doesn't really like you back, funny play on that... you'll see ;)

Tomorrow I am planning on thrifting :) there's a value village nearby that I want to check out to see what the latest items are in to scrounge. I am looking for some owl things, interested in owls right now, some dears, and just older vintage feel items to decorate my room.

I also want to create! this is something that I look forward to doing at night during the week. Last weekend I knitted most of the time and finished the cellphone holder... this weekend I will be working on knitting another one for myself, and maybe something else.

Hey Everyone!

I didn't write yesterday because Bell was acting up and my internet connection was not working :(
So latest project: I found a small, plain white, necklace blox in my room. There is so much you can do with a white box! I feel the spark of opportunity and am so excited to paint it.
I was thinking of painting an owl on it because I seem to be really drawn to owls right now.

Problems in the Workplace...

How is everyone :)
yay 2 more followers, thank you so much for thinking that this was a worthwhile blog for you to follow, welcome!

So I have something to talk about that bothered me today. At work there is a women who just bad mouths another one of my coworkers once she leaves to go home or she isn't in the room. "She doesn't do this right, she does this and that, blah blah blah". I really don't want to get involved in this kind of thing because wouldn't you hate to be the woman they are complaining about? and it's funny that people do it, because aren't we all a little self conscious and worried that people are talking about us when we are not around?
Also I really like the woman that she is complaining about, so I just kind of stare at this person who is complaining and I haven't worked closely with her before so I don't know how it is for her, well apparently it isn't fun.
My thought is, just don't get in the habit of discussing negatively a coworker with another one of your coworkers, it is a snowball effect because once you start that kind of complaining, it's hard to stop. Maybe she should discuss this with her boss but keep in away from other coworkers...
What are your thoughts?

Hey all,

It is the New Year and I have some crafty goals I would like to achieve this year, have you all made goals yet?
mine are:

Knit clothing: I really want to knit something to wear this year, I have been procrastinating but I can do this! just need to pick up the needles and wool.

Oil Paint: I just love the look of oil paintings, so beautiful it would be great if I could paint my own someday. Practice, practice, practice!

Learn to crochet: my friend just learned, I think it would be fun :)
sketch more in the sketch book
decorate boxes
get photos developed and create albums more often

are just some so far :)

hey !

sorry I was away for some time, I will be writing again now. I got inspired again by watching the movie 'Julie and Julia'! has anyone else seen it? very amazing movie and it got me thinking about my own blog :)

So lately I've been working, I got a fulltime job in a childcare center, I am really loving it :)

I started a project, it's a gray tank top, I had to frog it unfortunately because I didn't follow the pattern correctly.. but I will start over very soon, probably tomorrow since I don't want it to go on too long without any projects.
I am also knitting my sister a phone cozy, she asked me to, i think it'll be cute.

I found this ad in a magazine today from one of my old magazines, Teen Vogue April 2007 edition. The photos were labeled 'Tapeze Artists' and were photographed in Hong Kong by Raymond Meier.

On my dresser. I got the bird cage from Value Village for $ and had the bird necklaces from Claire's Icing, then cut birds out of construction paper. A fun, inexpensive way to have some new decor for a room.

New knitting project

This is a dark gray color although it looks black. I am knitting a scarf with it and send it off to a charity to donate to people who need the warmth this winter who unfortunately cannot afford it. I cannot wait to send it off, and maybe make someone's winter a little more bearable :)

Hey!

I finished knitting the blanket today :D I will be posting pictures tomorrow. I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about the blog and I haven't posted for awhile because the blanket wasn't done.
I will be starting a new project really soon, perhaps an item of clothing. I had set a resolution at the beginning of the year, to knit clothing so I really want to carry on with my plan. I think it would be really cool to be able to wear something I've made myself.
Other than that I am really good, I just celebrated my 21st birthday and I had a great time. I am looking for a job and I am busy creating and enjoying the company of friends and family.
I got some oil paints for my birthday so I want to try to oil paint! I will probably be painting flowers because they look beautiful in oil paint.

Ramblings <3

Hey there!

I bought a few more balls of wool today to complete the baby blanket :) so I'll try to push myself to get it done ! I procrastinate too much :P I'd rather look through your blogs for an hour than get anything done. Which isn't so bad, I enjoy this time!

Today I almost lost my wallet, I went to the gym and left it on the bench, but when I was rustling through my bag to find my keys, no wallet was to be seen. So I bolted back to the gym where I found my abandoned wallet, the amount of relief is unbearable. These things make you think once and awhile, to keep better eye on our important things and also that they can be stolen, lost so easily.

The gym, I went and worked out now I am so happy. Maybe I'll lose some of these annoying pounds that have been attached to me for some time now. Yes the dreaded 10- 20 pounds, I'm sure everyone has that issue, if only I could lose 10 more pounds... and how easy is that? just eat better, exercise, but of course there's the Starbucks that calls our names, what is it? the banana chocolate smoothie? *mouth waters* sooo hard to resist. Anyways I'll make a point of resisting now.

I think I'll actually go and knit now, or read I would love to finish a book I am reading today, I have read 3 books this month, it was a goal of mine :) I really want to finish the baby blanket soon to, to give as a baby gift.

Hello!

I have been working on my baby blanket. Here's a picture of the work in progress:

So as you can see, it's coming along but still a long way to go! I'll be starting some mini projects soon, like some flowers and also going to be starting a vest soon. I have never knitted socks so I would love to take on that challenge as well :) I've read about tube socks and think that would be a fun start to knitting socks, with no heel !

Hey everyone :)

I've been working night and day on this baby blanket! I hadn't realized how long it would take me to knit. So the baby is still a baby for quite some time at least, but now i'm feeling the crunch. gotta get this one done!
Lately I have been working on honing my knitting skills, looking for easy clothing patterns to try to tackle. I want to knit a vest or something like that. I have a pattern for a vest with a hood I am thinking of knitting.
anyways that's what I am up to, I will definitely post some baby blanket pictures once I am finished ! :D

Hey Everyone!

I was knitting a lot of the baby blanket yesterday, it's consuming me! I will post pictures I just took a second ago once my camera battery charges. (got to remember to charge it!) I'm excited to finish it and give it to my new little cousin.
So how is everyone doing? it's fall now, yesterday was the Autumnal Equinox at 5:18 pm. I am loving the cooler air and the leaves changing on the trees, sorry summer lovers but fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love to cozy up in my sweaters and it's also the best time for... knitting! so much to knit for in the fall, winter is fast approaching so we need: scarves, sweaters, gloves, cozy socks. I have to also start thinking about Christmas gifts as well, what to knit who, what colors, etc.. I think I just might knit most of my gifts this year :) well at least for my friends, that would be fun! personalized gifts :D one of my friends is a knitter herself, she's really good at it, she started fair isle knitting at one point, is that hard? I haven't tried yet. :S I'm going to try to get her to start a blog so you just might see her work too!
anyways all this talk of knitting, makes me want to knit so ttyl! off to work on the blanket!
